Dustin Hoag

Dustin Hoag is a performing musician and recording artist in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He also has a passion for education, teaching private music lessons for the last decade. You can catch him playing regularly with Hooks & The Huckleberries and the Hi-Watts.
Dustin began playing drums at the age of 14 and has been studying and performing music for over 20 years. He is well-versed in playing a variety of musical styles, along with teaching the fundamentals of music theory and songwriting. First playing in rock bands with friends at his high school in Texas, Dustin performed at various venues in downtown Dallas and Fort Worth. At the age of 15, he began an apprenticeship with Berklee College of Music graduate and professional drummer, John Martinez. In the years that followed, Dustin expanded his horizons to playing styles such as jazz, Latin, and funk.
After being accepted to the University of North Texas, Dustin continued his studies at their world-renowned College of Music. While attending, he advanced his education in percussion, music theory, history, and pedagogy. He later received a minor in music with his degree. Along with his experience studying and performing music, Dustin has also recorded and produced multiple albums over the years. He enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels and continues to write, record, and perform music.
